This policy governs information collected from visitors to belonglending.com. If you go on to apply for a mortgage, the additional privacy disclosures provided to you during the application process govern the information collected there.
We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it — for example when you submit a contact or quote form, opt in to text messages, subscribe to our newsletter, or message us through the chat widget. This typically means your name, email address, phone number, the state you are buying in, and anything you choose to tell us about your situation. You may browse the site without providing any of it, though some features will not work without it. We also record the date, time, and IP address when you give consent to be contacted, because that record is what proves the consent was given.
We collect technical information whenever you interact with the site — browser name, device and operating system, internet service provider, and similar details about how you connect. Our site may use cookies to improve your experience. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when they are sent, though some parts of the site may not function properly if you do.
We use your information to respond to what you asked us, to evaluate and process mortgage options, to improve our service and our site, and — if you have separately agreed to it — to send you marketing and follow-up communications. Responding to a request you sent us is not marketing, and we will do that whether or not you have agreed to marketing contact.
We operate two separate messaging programs. The first sends automated text messages about the status of an application you have started with us, up to 2 messages per day. The second sends marketing and follow-up communications by phone, text, and email, up to 4 messages per month. Both are optional, neither is a condition of applying for or receiving a loan, and opting in to one does not opt you in to the other. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time. The full terms of both programs are in our Terms of Service.
Belong Lending does not sell, rent, or lease customer lists to anyone. We share your information only with the service providers who help us deliver what you asked for — wholesale lenders and investors who underwrite and fund loans, loan origination and processing systems, credit reporting agencies, appraisal and title partners, and the communications and hosting providers that run our systems. Each is bound by contract to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the services they perform for us. They are not free to use it for their own purposes, and are not third parties marketing to you. We may also disclose information without notice where required by law or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with legal process, protect rights or property, or protect personal safety.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
You may withdraw your consent at any time and by any reasonable means — replying STOP to a text message, using the unsubscribe link in an email, emailing info@belonglending.com, calling us, or telling your loan officer. We will honor your request within ten business days and will stop marketing contact across every channel unless you tell us you want to keep receiving one of them. Requests not to be called are kept on our internal do-not-call list for at least five years. We may still contact you about an application already in progress.
The chat widget on our site is provided by a third party, OpenWidget, and anything you type into it is processed on their systems under their own privacy policy. Please do not enter Social Security numbers, account numbers, or other sensitive information there. Contact details you leave in chat are treated as a request for us to get back to you — they are not marketing consent, and we do not add them to marketing campaigns on the strength of a chat message.
We maintain data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures intended to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of the personal information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may find advertising or other content on our site that links to partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors, and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on those sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by them. Browsing and interaction on any other website is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. We never knowingly collect or maintain information from anyone under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
